It is known that more people have been spending their money on standalone fitness trackers such as FitBit Flex or Jawbone Up24. But what people don’t know is the power they have in their own pocket during their eveyday whereabouts: their smartphones.

Not only are there many fitness and health apps, but there are apps that track your sleep as well.

And SleepRate does just that. This iOS-only (for now) app uses heart rate data and your iPhone’s mic to provide a much more scientific assessment of how well you sleep each night. It will even deliver recommendations on how to improve your sleep.
