Pandia Health, a health service startup founded by a female physician that provides free birth control delivery, today announced the launch of the Pandia Health Birth Control Fund to provide free birth control to those without insurance.
According to a recent report by the Urban Institute, many women report barriers to contraception access. Lack of insurance coverage for birth control (46%) and the cost of birth control (41%) were listed among the most common hardships.
Pandia Health Birth Control Fund is a non-profit fund that provides free birth control and telemedicine consultations to uninsured women who could not otherwise afford those services. The fund is a project of the Center for Policy Analysis, which aims to get healthcare for all.
“For women, access to birth control and information about reproductive health is critical and directly affects quality of life,” said Pandia Health CEO Co-Founder, Dr. Sophia Yen. “At Pandia Health, we are committed to making women’s lives better, and the PHBC Fund helps us do just that.”
