JanrainĀ®, the leading Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions provider, today announced it has added WeChat to its growing list of identity providers. With more than 800 million Chinese users, many of them millennials, it is the fifth largest social network in the world.

More than a messaging app, WeChat serves as a hub for all kinds of internet activity, including free video calls, instant group chats, scheduling rides, buying movie tickets and making peer-to-peer payments. By offering WeChat as a Social Login option, brands worldwide can access a very large and difficult to reach demographic while giving password-weary consumers an easier way to register and login to their sites and apps.

“Passwords and traditional registrations are starting to be things of the past,” said Jim Kaskade, Janrain CEO. “Brands that don’t provide social login options are not only discouraging new users from signing up, they’re missing out on valuable user data that allows them to market to their customers in a highly personalized fashion.”
