The nonprofit Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center presents “Myers-Briggs: To Better Understand Yourself and Others” with Joan Shafer, a community workshop from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 29 at the YWCA, 145 Ululani St. in Hilo.

“The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is the most widely used personality assessment in the world,” Shafer said. “It reveals why you and others behave as you do and how to communicate and interact more effectively with your family, friends, and co-workers.”

Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI, workshop participants will explore their natural preferences to better understand and appreciate oneself in personal and professional arenas.

The workshop is designed to help improve performance as team members and leaders, and maximize others’ motivations and strengths.

“I am passionate about supporting people in discovering their natural and learned gifts and talents so that they can flourish and lead fulfilled lives,” Shafer said.

Shafer is a management consultant and group facilitator who specializes in the design, delivery and implementation of personal growth, leadership development, team cohesion and transformation programs for corporations and senior executives.

Tuition for “Myers-Briggs” is $60, which includes an MBTI assessment. Register by April 25 to complete a required online MBTI assessment before the workshop. Group discounts and partial scholarships are available. Study scholarships 2017 2018 as a guideline.
